The Cabana Kids "The Birds & The Bees"

Recently I had stumbled upon a heavyweight contender for favorite new indie band with The Cabana Kids. Upon hearing their first single, "Just Let Me Know" on Brooklyn Vegan, the band struck me as cutting edge, but with a sound so familar it felt like home. While listening to their first EP, The Birds & The Bees (Small Plates Records), which was released earlier this month, the band strings together a melodic vibrancy, recalling the subtle sounds of the 60s. Not a bad thing if you ask me.
